The DC Police Union is asking members to fill out the following survey and tell Union leadership which issues you would like to prioritize during the contract negotiation process: • Devin Dupree Wood, 33, was arrested on Tuesday in connection with a stabbing Monday night inside of a home near the NoMa neighborhood. • Lamont Delrico Roberts, 46, was sentenced to nine years in prison Wednesday for assaulting, stalking, and threatening his ex-girlfriend. The suspect’s sentence will run consecutively with a sentence for drug charges in an unrelated case.

Washington Post: As Navy Yard shooting drill winds down, alert sounds at Naval Observatory “A technical glitch appears to have caused a loud warning system to go off Wednesday morning at the Naval Observatory in upper Northwest Washington, just as a training exercise of how to deal with an active-shooter situation was wrapping up across town at the Washington Navy Yard in Southeast.”

NBC Washington: GM: Metro Needs $15.5B Over 10 Years “Metro needs $15.5 billion over 10 years for safety and reliability, according to its general manager. Paul Wiedefeld released his financial plan for the transit system Wednesday, saying major changes are needed this year.”
