The DC Police Union is asking members to fill out the following survey and tell Union leadership which issues you would like to prioritize during the contract negotiation process: • A man died after a shooting in the Anacostia neighborhood Monday night. Three men wearing all black were described as suspects, and DC Police are actively investigating the incident. • David Norwood, 79, was identified as the man who was fatally stabbed inside of a rowhouse Sunday afternoon near Stanton Park on Capitol Hill.

WJLA: Police: Man dies after being shot in Southeast D.C. “A man is dead following a shooting in Southeast D.C. Monday night, police report. The shooting happened in the 2200 block of Mount View Place, SE at around 7:20 p.m.”

Washington Post: Stabbing victim identified as 79-year-old D.C. man “A man who was found fatally stabbed inside a rowhouse Sunday afternoon near Stanton Park on Capitol Hill has been identified, according to D.C. police. David Norwood, 79, of Northeast Washington was pronounced dead at the scene in the 600 block of C Street NE. His body was discovered about 1:40 p.m.”

Washington Post: Three men shot near Columbia Heights in Northwest Washington “Three men were shot Sunday night on a residential street near Columbia Heights in Northwest Washington, according to D.C. police. The shootings occurred abut 8:40 p.m. in the 700 block of Gresham Place NW, a few blocks from the northern edge of the Howard University campus.”

WUSA9: Man stabbed in arm in DC “A man was stabbed in the arm in the District Sunday afternoon. Around 1:40 p.m., a stabbing was reported in the 600 block of C Street in Northeast. According to authorities, the victim is unconscious, but breathing.”

Fox5DC: 2 men beaten in separate daytime attacks in Columbia Heights neighborhood “Two men walking alone in the Columbia Heights neighborhood said they were viciously beaten without warning and knocked unconscious in separate attacks over the weekend. The daytime assaults happened just a day apart and have deeply troubled the victims along with their D.C. neighborhood.”

WUSA9: MISSING: 23-year-old from Northeast D.C. “The Metropolitan Police Deparment needs the public’s help finding a missing 23-year-old man. Deandre Shuford was last seen in the 5600 block of Third Street in Northeast, D.C., on Thursday, April 13, police said.”
